Hello everyone, Happy New Year!
I hope you had a great 2020 and wish you joys, prosperity and more adventures in 2021.
We all know that this pandemic will not be going away so soon. Instead, we have to face the fact that the virus is mutated and there is a new danger for us. But, we have to keep alert and the most important is keeping the faith and believe that God will never leave us and one day there will be a good ending for all of us.
The pandemic has given a very strong impact to people's life, including mine, in all aspects. However, I focus on my achievement more than my failure to motivate myself more this year. In my opinion, all the failure is not a failure but only a pending success. Let me flash back on what I have done in 2020.
1. Established My Own Business
Having my own business has been my passion since I moved to Jakarta in 2010 and worked at a reading course in Kelapa Gading. I love children and I love to work with them. So, I was so happy when finally I can contribute my self more in the education field by having my own brand of training service. It was meant for all kind of trainings, but at the moment we focus on language (cuma jatuhnya jadi kayak les online sekarang karena pandemik ini, nggak bisa masuk ke kantor2 lagi). Soon, we will try to expand the project into a soccer academy (Inshaa Allah). Three months before the break-out of the pandemic, I was processing all the documents of my office. I also started to collaborate with some friends and was working on finding students or any short training project. I knew I have to make the correct decision in a very short time. A sudden decision. I am not a Richie Rich and I could not just play on blind speculation. I knew I was dealing with a force majeure and although the government said it would be last in about three months, but I have learned from other countries and compared how their governments deal with it to ours. It's not because I did not believe the government, but I knew...I knew it very well, that I could not believe what they said and you can see that we are still struggling in this situation after almost a year. So, I have taken the correct decision. I have lost many students because not all of the students were able to have distance learning and not all of the teachers were trained to do it. I took over most of the classes myself and thank god my sister was willing to help me. So, I keep doing the branding and do the marketing via social media and rely on the connection as well. Thank God, I can survive, although I also have got a disaster that my email has been hacked. All my datas including google photos, contacts, and all the important details of my bank accounts are leaking. I admitted that I have made some transactions with some legal Fintech such as H** (I have used their services since three years ago and never have problems with them). During investigation, they make sure that my data was save with them (hopefully). I have got some reports from my friends, family and colleagues about the messages they have received via whats app. For my surprised, also suddenly, I lost my access to my whats app numbers. Turned out this is what we called as 'sim card cloning'. Well, at first I thought I was the one who made mistake because i clicked suspicious links sent to me but turned out there was another story behind. In short, since everybody knows I never have any record in making loan, so they all ignore those hoax. All of the photos they have got from my google photos. I notice one of them is a screen shot of my video call with my fam. LOL. My life goes on then...Thanks to Bapak Tongam Lumban Tobing as the chief of Satgas Waspada Investasi who replied my email in less than 24 hours and three days after he made a press conference that he has blocked 206 illegal fintech. Many people then asked me question how could he replied my email while there were many people got no replies. They thought I paid some money to the police dept or somewhat like that. For sure NO. Bapak Tongam Tobing did his job well. It's his responsibility and I am so proud of him. Thank also to Bang Medy Brawny who gave me support through his youtube channel. From him, I know what is PINJOl (illegal fintech) and their tricks and also the new tricks known as the 2020 tricks. Turned out that the victim was not only me. There were some people I know have shared similar stories. Well, I wish the government really takes this as a serious issue as well.
2. My Personal Life Was Almost Perfect
After the rain comes the rainbow, that's what I can say about my personal life hahaha. We do not need to chase people. If the love is mine, it always comes back to me. I admit that my personal life is not like a fairy tales. I have problems even with a woman because of this and she was the main suspect of what happened to me recently. I have warned her to stay away from me and my family so I wish I do not need to take a harsh action for her if she can not stay away from us. I thank God that during the hard time, I could still enjoy my life and my 'me' time. I could travel, having vacay and also staycation though I did it in clandestino way, for some reasons.
3. I Got Along Better with My Daily Routine
As we are in pandemic, I also do WFH, work from home, and since the outbreak,I dealt with it very well (til today). Stress for sure, but we could not escape from stress. Just I knew the way to handle it very..very well.
4. I Started to Get in Shape
The picture above was shown for an educative purpose. It is my first time to publish this kind of picture hahhaha. For some reasons, I have to sort out all pictures that I want to upload in my social media, even in my whats app status. If time allow and my family does not mind, soon I will make my own vlog about beauty and health and any random topics. I have an endomorph body type. My body is curvy, with a thin waist. Since I was child, I was a gymnastic athlete and into dance so much. I learned Bali Dance, Belly Dance and also Bachata. I performed Belly Dance with some teachers in my previous school. I like to create my own choreography. Check this pic:
So, I am not fat actually. I just need to tone my muscles. The Yoga and the Gym have helped me a lot in offloading all the stress.I have reach 74 kg at the moment. I was 80kg before and I am so grateful that I can loose weight because the gym kept open and close since the pandemic, so actually it's so difficult for me to workout regularly.
That's what happened to me in 2020. So, what's the most challenging for me? Do you think the Personal Issue? or the work stress? No..no..no. The most challenging one was to get in shape. hahhaha...That's why my resolutions for this year is to have better healthy life style and gym routine.
I wonder why I stop loosing my weight after I have reached 74kg, although I ran in treadmill and burnt 500 calories a day. After discussing with my BFF which is my personal trainer (unofficially), I found out that I have to diet, and not only burning calories. I have to eat correctly based on what my body is needed.
So, here are my other resolutions for this years in general:
1. Spend more time with my Dad and Mom at least through video calls.
2. Hit the gym Everyday and eat only what my body needs.
3. Perform more healthy life, such as sleep more. make general check up especially for my teeth and eyes.
4. Blogging at weekend.
5.. Be a good wife
6. Learn to be a better human being with a good characters based on my belief. I would like to use my social medias to inspire people not only visually, but on how we see the world.
7. Accomplish my Spanish at least level A2.
8. Be a better teacher with a good output that will be reflected from my students' achievement.
9. Spend more time with my family.
10. Make a youtube channel for my business.
11. Make a 'revenge' to a woman who has humiliated me somewhat how. LOL
12. Prepare all I need if I have to move out from Jakarta. Moving places is never easy. It needs a very well plan and preps.
The most important is that I wanna be happy, free from insecurities and fear, be always positive, make myself proud and contented and be good to others. I think that's how I want to live my life. To be close to God and be a light for others.
What are some of your New Year’s resolutions?
